Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dion comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall for the first time in more than 7 years with special guest Kenny Vance and The Planotones.

Dion and his music represent a special time and place…a moment when a song could mean so much and a singer could sum up what it means to be young, in love and on top of the world. Dion defined Rock ‘n’ Roll for a generation with hits such as I Wonder Why, A Teenager In Love, Where or When, Runaround Sue, Lovers Who Wander, The Wanderer, Ruby Baby, Donna the Prima Donna and Drip Drop.

His induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame further highlights Dion’s contribution to the state of the musical art. Today, Dion’s songs grow more important and valuable to his fans, himself and to a new generation of believers.

Kenny Vance was captivated by the magic of rock ’n roll as a kid in New York and eventually formed the successful group Jay and the Americans. He then formed the Doo Wop Super group, The Planotones who gave their first on-screen performance for the film American Hot Wax.

Kenny Vance re-formed The Planotones in 1992 and with their cool and sultry musical approach they give a gift to those who are discovering them for the first time. They continue to record albums, including Oceans Of Time which was released last year.
